Dear swimmers and parents,

We have now been informed that details of the proposals being formulated by Greenwich Council regarding the future of swimming within the borough will be published on the 17th March 2008. We will circulate the proposals as soon as we have them – so keep an eye on the notice board and web site. Greenwich Council have also announced that they will hold a consultation evening with the club on the 1st April at the Arches.

This gives the club a 2 week period to formulate its response. The committee therefore propose to hold our own club meeting at 7.30pm on Tuesday 25th March 2008  at James Wolfe Hall where the detail of the proposals can be discussed and parents / swimmers can put their points of view forward - venue will be confirmed. It is important that as many swimmers and parents as possible come to both meetings but particularly the consultation evening on the 1st April  because this is our opportunity to have our views heard directly by those who are formulating the proposals.

Copies of correspondence between our Chairman, Jonathan Carter and key personnel from the Council and the ASA are available on our website, Greenwichswimmingclub.org.uk
