Tudor RoseTudor League Galas

There are 8 participating clubs in this B grade league which is run through the year from October to June in 8 rounds at Eltham pool. At each gala only 6 clubs compete and 2 clubs dropout.

Individual events are 1 length for all strokes. Age groups for events are 10years, 12 years and under, 14 years and under, open (any age). 9 year olds can only enter the relay events. All ages are as at 31st December in the year of the competition. Swimmers can only compete in two individual races of their own age group.

The Tudor galas have a set time per event which disqualifies (time faults) swimmers who are faster than that time. This is to ensure that clubs do not enter swimmers who are far too good for the grade of the gala.

Gala points are awarded for each race as follows:-
1st place : 6 points;
2nd place : 5 points;
3rd place : 4 points;
4th place : 3 points;
5th place : 2 points;
6th place : 1 points

Disqualified swimmers get 0 points.

The club scoring the most gala points wins the gala. Gala points are accumulated through the season.

League points are awarded for each gala as follows:-
1st place : 6 points;
2nd place : 5 points;
3rd place : 4 points;
4th place : 3 points;
5th place : 2 points;
6th place : 1 point

Dropout clubs get 0 points.

After every gala the league points are accumulated and the Tudor league table is club ordered by descending number of league points. If 2 clubs have the same number of league points the club with the most gala points is given the higher league position.

Millenium DomeMillennium League Galas

There are 6 participating clubs in this C grade league which is run through the year from January to July in 6 rounds each hosted by a participating club at their pool.

Individual events are 1 or 2 lengths for all strokes. Age groups for events are 10 years, 12 years and under, 14 years and under, open (any age). 9 year olds can only enter the relay events. All ages are as at 31st December in the year of the competition. Swimmers can only compete in two individual races of their own age group.

The Millennium league has a set time per event which disqualifies (time faults) swimmers who are faster than that time. This is to ensure that clubs do not enter swimmers who are far too good for the grade of the gala.

Gala points are awarded for each race as follows:-
1st place : 1 point;
2nd place : 2 points;
3rd place : 3 points;
4th place : 4 points;
5th place : 5 points;
6th place : 6 points

Disqualified swimmers get 7 points.

The club scoring the least gala points wins the gala. Gala points are accumulated through the season.

League points are awarded for each gala as follows:-
1st place : 6 points;
2nd place : 5 points;
3rd place : 4 points;
4th place : 3 points;
5th place : 2 points;
6th place : 1 point

Clubs not turning up get 0 points.

After every gala the league points are accumulated and the Millennium league table is club ordered by descending number of league points. If 2 clubs have the same number of league points the club with the least gala points is given the higher league position. So unlike the Tudor league the league leader has the least gala points but the most league points!

North Kent Junior League Galas

KentThe whole North Kent Junior League consists of 5 divisions of 6 clubs each. Each year the top and bottom clubs in each division will be promoted or relegated respectively. Greenwich entered the league at division 5 in 2004 and start the 2005 season with a promotion to division 4. This B grade league is run in the second half of the year from June to November in 3 rounds at various pools.

Individual events are 50m or 100m except the 10years butterfly is only 25m. Age groups for events are 10years, 11years and under, 12 years and under, 13 years. 9 year olds can only enter the relay events. All ages are as at 31st December in the year of the competition. Swimmers can compete in a maximum 4 individual races but with a maximum of 2 races in their own age group.

In these galas the fastest swimmer wins! - there are no time faults.

Gala points are awarded for each race as follows:-
1st place : 6 points;
2nd place : 5 points;
3rd place : 4 points;
4th place : 3 points;
5th place : 2 points;
6th place : 1 points

Disqualified swimmers get 0 points.

If there is a dead heat between 2 swimmers the two points will be added together and divided by two - eg. tie for 2nd place, then add 5 and 4 then each swimmer gets 4.5 points. The club scoring the most gala points wins the gala. Gala points are accumulated through the season.

League points are awarded for each gala as follows:-
1st place : 6 points;
2nd place : 5 points;
3rd place : 4 points;
4th place : 3 points;
5th place : 2 points;
6th place : 1 point

Dropout clubs get 0 points.

After every gala the league points are accumulated and the North Kent Junior league table is ordered as highest to lowest league points. If there is a dead heat between 2 clubs the two points will be added together and divided by two the same as is done with gala points above.

The club with most league points wins the league after the 3 galas. If 2 clubs have the same number of league points the club with the most gala points is given the higher league position.
